Rules of the Linkshell
Rules of conduct within the Shell
1. No excessive cursing. An occasional curse or swear is okay, but repeated, excessive cursing is disruptive and rude. 2. No swears, slang, or even jokes related to sexual preference or racial background. Though they may in fact just be teasing or jokes, it’s too easy to misinterpret such things online. 3. No malicious intent. Do not pick fights or arguments with anyone for any reason, not even if they made you angry. Eye for an eye doesn’t work. Just turn the other cheek and inform a sackholder or Ziero if someone does try to start a fight and we’ll take care of it, don’t take it into your own hands. 4. Do not perpetuate fights. If someone starts a fight, don’t press on to finish it. Just let it go and inform a sackholder or Ziero. Try to get screenshots of it if you have FRAPS. If you don’t, just try to remember clearly what happened so you can describe the situation properly to an authority. 5. Do not spam. Random chatter is okay, it makes our Linkshell fun and lively, but ‘spamming’ the LS with song verses, the same statement over and over again, or other inane comments is irritating and rude to the other members. 6. Do not tease or prod about job, nation, or race superiority. No job is better than any other; each has pluses and minuses. Even teasing that you might think is light and joking can be taken in a wrong way. Do not tease a member of a different race about appearance, a member of a different nation about their nations power or standing, or a member of a different job about being weaker. 7. Do not drag out long hypothetical arguments into LS. Ie, ‘I could beat you in Ballista if…’ ‘But if you did that, I’d…’ they just drag on and on and get nowhere. Same goes for other such things, ‘Windurst would win in a war if…’ ‘But if Bastok did…’ etc. These topics often have no real clear answer, so long ‘discussions’ or arguments regarding them can drag down the spirit of the LS. 8. Keep excessive sexual content out of the Linkshell. An occasional dirty joke is okay, but continuously rambling on and on about sex-related topics and tangents is offensive to some members and not conducive to ordinary LS chat. 9. If an argument does start and you wish to continue it, take the matter to /tell. Do not under any circumstances drag your fighting into the LS. You will be given one warning and then kicked. 10. No politics or religion. Do not discuss politics or religion in the shell as these can be very sensitive topics with no clear answer that fall under the matters of opinion for some. Just keep your mouth closed. 11. Do not flame, and keep personal slurs out of LS. Do not call someone an idiot, stupid, know-nothing etc under any circumstances. Either take the matter to /tell or zip your lip. 12. Respect the opinions of others. Just because they're different doesn't mean that they're wrong or deserve to be mocked because of them. Polite discussion of differences in opinion is okay, but mocking or flaming someone due to their opinion is not. Rules of Conduct on the Boards 1) This board is for members of BlueRequiem only. If you wish to invite someone from outside the shell, please contact an admin with your request. 2) If you are kicked from the clan, you are banned from the board. 3) Foul language is allowed as long as it's not excessive. 4) No porn allowed. No links, no pics, nothing. 5) Please keep all topics in their respective forums. Things that pertain to FFXI should be posted in the FFXI forum, general chat topics should be posted in the general chat section etc. Banning Policy After your first warning you are on one week’s ‘close watch’. If you commit another violation within that week, you are automatically kicked from the shell. If you pass the week’s close watch, but commit another offense later, you will be temp-kicked for a day. If after this you still cause problems, you will be permanently kicked from the shell. Application of Rules and Policy Modification These rules will apply to everybody in the shell, including the shellholder, sackholders, etc. If you see a sackholder violating the rules, inform other sackholders or the shellholder. You will not be granted freedom from the rules because you are a sackholder. In addition, this policy may be modified at any time if it is deemed necessary to do so.
